Former CFTC commissioner David G. Gartner passes away at 74
Felix Shipkevich - September 30, 2009Former CFTC commissioner David G. Gartner died Tuesday in Arlington, Va. Gartner worked for several members of Congress before joining the staff of then-Sen. Humphrey of Minnesota in 1961. He ultimately became Humphrey’s chief of staff. Gartner was later appointed a commissioner of the CFTC and named special deputy to the U.S. Senate.
